There are a host of viewpoints (as they call them over here: miradouro) on the island of São Miguel and Pico do Ferro is one of them. This is where you can soak in a view of the Furnas Lake…

…and its surrounding.

We also passed by this lovely fountain.

And we so much enjoyed the Terra Nostra Gardens last time that we decided to go back.

I just wouldn’t know how to describe the place – there are no appropriate adjectives to depict its beauty. It’s peaceful, rich in plants and relaxing. And you can spend a good hour or two observing some pretty but quarrelsome ducks…

And a very friendly black swan…

I will definitely miss this place.
