Greetings from Nuremberg!
Nuremberg is where we spent the month of August. We were really lucky because the weather was simply fantastic during the whole month, which allowed us to travel around and explore the region.
These are my favorite places in town:
Weißgerbergasse – definitely the prettiest street in Nuremberg…
St.Lorenz – which was badly damaged during the Second World War and later restored (like most places in Germany)…
The Frauenkirche – unfortunately, we didn’t have time to visit inside (too many things to do), but it looks beautiful from the outside…
The Nuremberg Castle and the area around the castle…
The view from the castle….
The Heilig-Geist-Spital (Holy Spirit Hospital) – a charming example of medieval architecture in the heart of the Old Town…
The Pegnitz River…
Nuremberg has many beautiful half-timbered houses….
Wrought iron signs…
And this is one of the best fountains I’ve ever seen…
Another beautiful place. Such special photos. The golden light in those Frauenkirche photos was magical.

I too love the Frauenkirche photos’ light. Also the reflections in the river. Great set of photos.

I went last year to Nuremberg before heading to Oktoberfest in Munich. I loved the place. It has such rich architecture and history. Great pictures.

I lived near Nuremberg in the early 1990’s, we lived in a very small town called Herzogenaurach. It’s a great area. We lived in Hanau as well – hoping to return to Germany soon. Loving your blog – inspiring me as we start to plan for retirement.
